Matoskah was escaping from a backyard breeder’s property, got shot, and ended up in the shelter with 17 other dogs when she was arrested for drug trafficking.  He sat there waiting for surgery for rescue for almost three weeks.  Surgery costs will be about $2000 and if SWS had not taken him in his chances of finding someone to pay for the surgery and rescue him would have been zero.  The shelter vet said his leg would have to be amputated but Dr. Randy Eisel (our vet) looked at the x-ray and said it was salvageable.  He never once tried to snap or bite during that whole time!
