Cochise was born in 1996 with a pure wolf mother (Montana) and a wolfdog father (Cody). Percentage-wise he would be more than 50% wolf but he is an example of a wolfdog that behaves more "wolfy". He is very shy of strangers and prefers canine companionship. He had been adopted by a couple in Cape Coral as a youngster, but when the Cape started being developed his owners decided it wasn't the best place to have him and his companion Zuni (who was a pure grey wolf). |

The pair came to Nancy & Kent before Shy Wolf Sanctuary was ever even a dream and have remained there all these years. When we lost Zuni in 2009 due to age related disorders, Cochise was truly beside himself. It was then that we paired our newest ambassador Promise up with him. Subsequently, Cree joined them and keeps Cochise company and calm while Promise fulfills her ambassadorial duties.
