BUDDY

Buddy is one of our adoptable dogs.  He would need to meet the family who adopts him due to the fact he has reacted negatively to a few men over the years.  While it seems very limited, there is obviously something in his history to make him dislike certain men.  Usually we suspect some sort of abuse in these situations.  We were contacted about Buddy prior to a man moving to Costa Rica to retire.  It was after one of the hurricanes and he had decided to pack up & move.  When we hadn't found Buddy a home, he faced euthanasia.

It was an Easter Sunday that Buddy came to  Shy Wolf Sanctuary.  Joanne, from Lost Wolf Rescue in St. Pete, did the transport for us and waited over three hours for the owner to arrive at the meeting point.  We believe Buddy to be Great Pyrenese mix (an uncommon combination as they were bred to protect herds from wolves).  He would love to be someone's companion but would also need canine companionship as he has, in his youth, escaped to play with other dogs.

Someone could adopt Buddy and Amaya together, or they  could be separated as long as Buddy has some dog to hang out with in his new life.  His short time in foster demonstrated that he is willing to vocalize his dissatisfaction when kenneled alone.
